Pallme König Iridescent Threaded Vase / Art Nouveau Jugendstil / Antique Bohemian Art Glass / Victorian 1890-1900

$103.20 $129.00

ITEM #101701

Antique iridescent art glass vase with threaded/veined applied glass. This vase has been identified as Czechoslovakian Jugendstil art glass made by the Bohemian/Austrian firm Pallme König through a reputable art glass collector/dealer . It is blown of translucent yellowish-green glass with a creamy off white iridescent threading or veining.

Pallme-König took their inspiration from Loetz, Gallé, and other famous artists working at the time. There is no visible signature, which is why Pallme-König pieces are often misidentified as works by other artists. During the Art Nouveau period, this company was producing high quality iridized glass with it's finest production being that with the threading/veining.

I took some the photos outside during a sunny day (photos #2, #4 and #5), and then I took some inside as well, to show how the colors of iridescent art glass can change with lighting. The base is yellow-green with iridescent shades of pink, purple, blue and green.

Vase is a squatty bulbous shape with the three crimped corners on the rim. Vase measures approx 4 1/2" at widest diameter, 3 1/2" at tallest. The opening measures 3 3/4" lip to lip.

Condtion: Very good antique condition with typical wear due to age and handling. Some minor scuffing on base as would be age appropriate from wear. Some typical tiny spots missing on applied threading seen only upon very close inspection, consistent with age and wear as well.
